Through Jacomien and Pieter van der Wilt, my niece and nephew, I was involved – from a distance – with the work at STKIP. In 2013, I was asked to enter their TFC. I had just retired after working in primary education for many years. I admired the commitment of the STKIP teachers. I heard of ups and downs, of abuses at local schools, but also of trust in God. Only in His strength, under His blessing, can we work towards a better future for the youth in the Baliem Valley. When the Van der Wilt family repatriated and the TFC was dissolved, I wanted to dedicate myself to Karunia. In my environment I regularly draw attention to the foundation and I try to promote financial support.

Fundraising is difficult for me, I was not cut out for it. I simply ask: do you also want to do your bit and contribute to this beautiful work? Karunia is happy with any gift!
