- Volunteer at Karunia
- Teacher at King Willem-Alexander School
I was adopted from Indonesia as a baby and since then I have lived in Staphorst all my life. I work there as a primary school teacher. I am also active as a concert organizer.
I got involved with Karunia Foundation through Jacomien van de Wilt. We know each other from our student days at the teacher training college in Gouda. After she left for Papua with her husband and children, I followed the family from a distance by reading their blogs. However, our paths crossed again in December 2019, when we met Jacomien, Pieter, the children and parents Van Dijk on the Indonesian island of Bali. Since then, I have been trying to help them ‘put the Karunia Foundation on the map’ here in the Netherlands.
My Indonesian heritage and my love for education come together beautifully in Karunia’s work. That is why I – together with my wife Lydia – am happy to contribute to increasing brand awareness and acquiring financial resources for Karunia.
