- Volunteer at Karunia
- Primary education teacher
We have lived and worked with our family in Wamena, Papua from 2011 – 2020. We have committed ourselves there to STKIP, the Karunia University of Applied Sciences, and we are still trying to do this from the Netherlands. A piece of our life and heart lies there. We have seen with our own eyes what change good Christian education can bring about in the dire situation in Papua. We love the people there and want to continue to work for them with love!
Karunia is the Indonesian word for ‘gift’. We teach teachers to share their ‘gifts’ with their students. The great thing is that this principle is also reflected in the team in the Netherlands. We complement each other very nicely with the different gifts we have received from God.
Karunia contributes to a better future for the youth in the Baliem Valley.
